With a good number of investor-firms, Clark Field is becoming a lucrative IT market, according to technology company IBM.
IBM has formed a partnership with Clark Development Corp. (CDC) as part of its current expansion into more areas outside of Metro Manila. Through this partnership, IBM wants to bring itself closer to small and medium businesses in Clark.

“Clark has become a strategic place for us to focus our efforts,” said James Velasquez, IBM Philippines president and general manager, in a statement.

According to the Clark Freeport website, there are 725 investor-companies in Clark as of December last year. Most of these investors are industrial and commercial businesses.

The Department of Trade and Industry and the Commission on Information and Communications Technology have given Clark a score of 9.23 (10 being the highest) in terms of ICT-readiness.

The high score reflects Clark’s readiness as an investment hub for different businesses, especially those in the business process outsourcing or BPO sector.
