The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has chosen the Marikina City police as the pilot site for its electronic crime reporting system project.
Under the eCrime system, the city police departments will be equipped with computer equipment connected to the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame.
“The city police force will serve as the project’s model for the eventual computerization and eventual linkage of all police stations all over the country,” said Superintendent Sotero Ramos Jr., Marikina City police chief.
Ramos said the project will play a major role in “systemizing” police transactions, especially in recording criminal complaints in police blotters.
The Marikina City police is also the pilot site for the PNP’s model police station project.
