The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and some of the mayors who have been its constant critics on Friday agreed that each local government will issue its own traffic violation ticket.
In a meeting held Friday, the MMDA and the Metro Manila mayors agreed to have a uniform ticketing scheme, where local governments would issue traffic violation tickets within their jurisdictions.
The meeting was held at the office of MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando, and was attended by Fernando, Mayors Benhur Abalos of Mandaluyong City, Wenceslao “Peewee” Trinidad of Pasay City, Jose Victor “JV” Ejercito of San Juan City and Toby Tiangco of Navotas City.
If the same motorist is apprehended by the MMDA, the ticket issued by a local government unit will be recognized.
